A Letter of Appreciation and Celebration to all who have contributed to URTV!
You, our members and independent videographers, know what an incredible year this has been for URTV and I’d like to personally thank you for being such a huge part of our success. Due to the myriad of exciting changes that we have implemented–from operations to programming on the channel, the facility and staffing, URTV keeps getting better. Considering that we’ve been operating for only one and a half years, that’s quite a statement. URTV is a unique resource for Asheville and Buncombe County. We are a community media center and ‘hub’ of activities for media resources in WNC.
You have made this past year exciting: programing on the channel is diverse, interesting and worth watching. The Board and Staff are committed to providing the best services available and inspiring you to try new media ventures.
In the coming New Year we will be bringing more activities to engage the public. Each fiscal year we update our equipment inventory, and, in late spring, we have plans for a weekend of spectacular activities: video awards celebration, naming of Studios A and B, silent auction, celebrity seminars and hosts to celebrate you and the success of URTV. The deadline for video submissions is February 29th so there’s still plenty of time to get that special video entry completed.
I would like you to know how much we value your comments and input. You also know the vast diversity of clients that use URTV and that public access provides a forum for everyone. Such a mission sometimes comes with a bit of give and take and we appreciate your cooperation and willingness to help out, always. Building Community Dialogue comes with some challenges and lots of hard work. We’re delighted that you’ve been up to the task.
I look forward to exploring what new heights are in store for URTV and in working with you, and many new producers, to discover how URTV can continue to provide value to the residents in Asheville and Buncombe County.
Thank you all for making 2007 a successful and memorable year. Imagine what 2008 can bring–what you can dream, you can do.
Best regards,
Pat Garlinghouse
